In 1977 John Crawford co-founded Crawford/Howard Pty Ltd., which later became Crawford Partners in ‘92. In 2001, along with his four partners, John further transformed the company into an international affair with the creation of Crawford Architects, maintaining offices in Sydney, Australia and Kansas City, Missouri.
John is known to many as a quiet achiever. He has personally attended to the architectural commissions of many of Australia's business leaders, including several private domestic commissions.
He is responsible for Crawford Architects' management of external relations and strategic planning. At a project level, John ensures that sight of project goals are never lost. He maintains close contact with clients and represents their interests by responding to private and public concerns and ensuring contribution to the public good.
John has extensive experience in commercial office building construction and interior tenancy projects and has a particular interest in marketing and feasibility work. He has written many published articles on architectural matters, received numerous awards and was responsible for several of the firm's widely published residential projects.
John is a world-class sailor, the director of the Sydney Amateur Sailing Club. He loves sailing, reading about sailing, thinking about sailing and talking like a sailor.
